Will the Fear Tactic Still Work??

Hopefully by now, people have already realized that Prime Minister Harper and the Conservative Party are NOT scary.

This site is out-dated. However, for those still believe that the Conservatives are scary, I am going to leave you with this: Are those quotes by Conservatives scarier than those scandals, arrogance, and corruptions by the Liberals?

I'm no expert in International Relations, but if your country is bombed by rockets frequently, you will have to react fast. That is basically what the Israelis were facing - rocket launched from Lebanon, by Hezbollah warriors. I am not supporting their decision to invade Lebanon, especially invading Beirut. I just hope that international peacekeepers will be there ASAP to stop the war.

....and you are right, many people do not understand the Middle East situation. All they know is there is a war, apparently started by Israel. That is a problem with the PMO. The public is not educated enough about the cause of the current situation.

About Emerson, I support his defection. It is a move that is good for Vancouver, BC, and the whole country. On the other hand, I have my reservations about the Fortier appointment.

RBK,

I agree with almost everything from the article. Do I support Israel's action by invading Lebanon? No.

Do I think their responses to their soldiers being kidnapped are proportional? No.

Did the Israelis use the incidence as an excuse to send their troops to Lebanon? Definitely yes.

Do I have the full picture of understanding of what's going on with this crisis? Probably not.

=)

I just hope that the Canadian public can take a step back and educate themselves on the issue before bashing either side.

On the other hand, a better way for the Harper government could have done to handle the situation is to condemn Hezbollah's rocket attacks, without openly supporting Israel's military actions.
